Parent Introduction to Kindergarten Night
February 19, 2026 / 6:00-7:00 pm at Edna C. Stevens School Cafeteria
(Dates of birth for Kindergarten: 9/2/2020-9/1/2021)
Parents are invited to learn what a typical day in Kindergarten looks like and tour some classrooms. (Children do not attend this event.) Following the Kindergarten Night event, parents can sign up for a screening time online.
Kindergarten Registration Process:

All screenings require an appointment online.
Please note: If your child attends the ECS Preschool Program, there is no need to schedule a screening.
On-line Registration will open Friday, February 20, 2026. Check back here for the link on February 20, 2026. Families with students entering Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year need to complete an online registration. Please note it is important that you click on the “Register under 2026-2027 school year” on the Cromwell Public School Website. If you do not have access to a computer, please visit the CPS Central Office or contact Annie Newcomb at 860-632-6046 for assistance.
Bring your child to Edna C. Stevens School to be screened on 3/19/26 at your allotted time. Screening will take approximately 15-20 minutes
May 13, 2026 / Incoming Kindergarten Student Class Visit- 2:15 - 3:15pm
On this date, you are invited to drop off your child at Edna C. Stevens School at 2:!5 PM and pick them up at 3:15 PM. During this time, your child will be in a classroom with a kindergarten teacher. Parents do not stay for this visit. In August, families will receive a letter by mail with the anem of your child's teacher and additional kindergarten information.

This is a time for parents and incoming Kindergarten students to meet the teacher and visit the classroom.
